Terms and conditions

1. Parties and contract
These terms are the contract between you (the account holder: workshop, tuner, team or private customer) and ChiptuningLab, operator of chiptuninglab.com ("we", "the lab"). Contact: contact.chiptuninglab@gmail.com. By creating an account, buying credits or opening a ticket you accept this contract. If you buy for a company, you confirm you may bind that company.
2. What we sell
We sell digital ECU / TCU files and related option maps written on the dump you send, plus credit packs used to pay those jobs. We do not sell hardware, flashing tools, or a street homologation. A ticket is a service contract for one file (or the lines you tick), not a licence to resell our maps as a generic pack.
3. Motorsport / circuit use only
Every file is for closed-circuit, private track, off-road and motorsport use only. Files are not type-approved, not e-marked and not intended for public roads. You must brief the end driver. Use on a public road is your decision and your liability. We do not advise or assist that use.
4. How an order works
You create an account, buy credits, open a request, pick one solution plus options, and send the original dump (Dropbox, Google Drive or MEGA) with vehicle data on the ticket. We write the file on that read. Status moves queued → working → ready (or revision / rejected). Chat on the job is the working record. Ready means the tuned file is available to download from the ticket.
5. Your duties
You warrant that you have the right to send the dump, that the hardware list on the ticket is true, and that the vehicle will only be used as section 3 allows. You keep logins secret. You do not share a tuned file as a public bin pack. You do not ask us to hide a public-road conversion. Wrong hardware notes are how files fail — that is not a defect in the lab work.
6. Credits, price and invoices
1 credit = 1 € at the listed pack price. Credits are added after Stripe or PayPal confirms payment. Credits never expire. A job deducts the menu lines you selected. Rejected jobs refund the credits charged on that ticket. Pack discounts (1 000 / 2 500 / 5 000) are shown on the pricing page. Purchases in the same calendar month (UTC) are grouped on one invoice. Invoices are PDF in the account. White-label shops receive a separate monthly file-fee invoice when that plan applies.
7. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
If you buy as a consumer in the EEA, digital content that starts as soon as credits are available is supplied with your request to begin immediately. You acknowledge that you lose the 14-day withdrawal right once credits are added to the account, under art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU as implemented in Romania (OUG 34/2014). Unused credits after that point stay in the account; they are not a cash wallet. Business buyers (workshops) buy as professionals; the consumer withdrawal right does not apply.
8. Revisions and defects
BASE Stage work includes the revisions stated on the service page when the hardware on the car matches the ticket. A flash that does not load because the dump was incomplete, the tool failed, or the parts list was wrong is not a lab defect. Open the job chat. A second file on different hardware is a new line, not a free revision.
9. Files and cloud links
We do not host ECU dumps as a public library. You share files via Dropbox, Drive or MEGA. Cloud links are your responsibility. We may keep working copies as long as needed to deliver, revise or prove what was sent. We do not sell your dumps.
10. Privacy and GDPR
Controller: ChiptuningLab, contact.chiptuninglab@gmail.com. We process: account email and name, billing details you type, IP and login logs, job metadata, message text, payment references from Stripe or PayPal. Purposes: to run the contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), invoices and tax (art. 6(1)(c)), security and abuse prevention (art. 6(1)(f)). We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising cookies. Essential cookies keep the session and language. Processors: Stripe, PayPal, our email transport, and the cloud host of the site. You may ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection at contact.chiptuninglab@gmail.com. You may complain to the Romanian DPA (ANSPDCP). We keep account and invoice data for the legal accounting term; job files only as long as the service needs them.
11. Messages and mail
Engineers and customers talk on the job. We may email you on signup, password reset, new messages, status changes and when a file is ready. Transactional mail is part of the service, not marketing. You can ask us to drop optional notices; we still send security and invoice mail.
12. Liability
Files are delivered as-is for motorsport use. We are not liable for hardware damage, failed flashes, tool errors, clutch or gearbox wear, or public-road use. Nothing in this contract limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law forbids that cap. For everything else, maximum liability is the credits charged on the affected request.
13. Governing law
Romanian law applies. Courts in Romania have jurisdiction, without taking away mandatory consumer protections if you buy as a consumer in another EU state.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The date on this page is the current version. Continued use of the portal after an update counts as acceptance of the new text for future tickets. Open jobs stay on the version that applied when you opened them.
