DPF off on a track car — what the file actually does
A DPF-off file stops the ECU looking for a filter that is no longer there. It is a motorsport file, not a street trick.
Reviewed by the lab desk before it went live. We write files; we do not rubber-stamp brochure numbers.
Diesel cars from the last twenty years expect a particulate filter. If you remove it for a track or off-road build and leave the stock file on, the ECU waits for pressure readings that never come. Then you live in limp mode.
The DPF-off file (and the OPF/GPF cousins on petrol) is a calibration change: stop asking for that sensor, stop trying to regenerate a can that is gone. We also do the combinations workshops actually order — DPF + EGR, DPF + AdBlue — instead of stacking three mystery files.
This lab does not sell a ‘cheat for the annual test’. The catalogue is circuit and motorsport. If a customer wants the car back to stock, order the original file and flash that. Keep the first dump.
BMW 320d, VW 2.0 TDI, Peugeot BlueHDi, Ford TDCi — same idea, different ECUs. Send the original read. A DPF file from another chassis is how you get a new warning instead of a quiet dash.
