DSG and gearbox remap, in plain words

The engine map can make more torque. The gearbox still decides when you get it. That is why TCU files exist.

Reviewed by the lab desk before it went live. We write files; we do not rubber-stamp brochure numbers.

You can remap an engine and leave the gearbox stock. Plenty of people do. Then they write in that the car feels strong in third and lazy on the next shift. That is the TCU still protecting a torque limit the engine file just ignored.

A TCU remap (DSG, ZF, PDK — the badge changes, the idea does not) raises those limits, often trims shift time, sometimes adds a better launch. On our list, TCU Stage 1 is the modest one. Stage 2 and 3 go further and include revisions.

Send the gearbox file as well as the ECU file when you want both. A DQ381 is not a DQ250. A ZF 8HP in a BMW is not a Mercedes 9G. Put the code in the notes if you have it.

This is still not a street homologation. Harder shifts on a worn clutch pack will make noise. Tell us the mileage. Volkswagen, Audi, Cupra, BMW, Mercedes — pick the brand page if you want the context, then open a ticket.
