GPF off on a track petrol: the filter the ECU still thinks is there

A gasoline particulate filter is not a DPF with a different badge. If the can is coming off a circuit car, that is a GPF-off ticket. Not a silent line inside Stage 2.

Newer turbo petrols carry a gasoline particulate filter in the exhaust. The ECU watches pressure, temperature, sometimes a regeneration story that looks cousin to a diesel. Workshops pull the can on a track or hill-climb build because the pipe is going open. The file is what stops the dash asking for a filter that left in a box.

GPF-off is not pops and bangs. Unburnt fuel in a hot open pipe is a different option and a different risk to a stock catalyst you still have. If you want both, write both. If the GPF is still in the car, do not order GPF-off and hope the light stays off. Same honesty as DPF-off.

Stage 2 on a petrol often assumes a freer pipe. That is air. GPF-off is the monitor for a part. Mixing them in one vague sentence is how a Saturday session becomes a limp on the way back to the paddock. Downpipe, GPF gone, stock turbo — that is a brief. Make it angry — that is not.

Send the dump. Name the family if you know it. A photo of the exhaust helps the engineer believe the can is out. Codes already on the scan go on the ticket. Look them up on the DTC list if you want the family in plain words.

Circuit and motorsport only. Taking a GPF out is not a street homologation. We write the file for the hardware you describe. Keep the first dump. Someone will want the filter story back.
