Stage 3 custom remap: not a vending machine

Stage 1 assumes stock parts. Stage 2 assumes the engine already breathes better. Stage 3 is a brief: bigger turbo, fueling, sometimes a conversation before a file.

Reviewed by the lab desk before it went live. We write files; we do not rubber-stamp brochure numbers.

People treat Stage 3 like a larger cup of the same drink. It is not. Stage 1 is a map for factory air and factory fueling. Stage 2 is for a car that already has a freer intake and a downpipe. Stage 3 starts when the turbo, the injectors or both left the brochure behind. If you flash a Stage 2 file on a big turbo you leave the hardware bored. If you flash a wild Stage 3 on a stock turbo you get knock, a limp, or a conversation with a customer who still has the factory downpipe on the floor of the van.

On this desk Stage 3 and custom work are a quote, not a pack you tap on a Saturday. Three revisions sit inside that job once it is open. They are not a new invoice every time fourth gear feels soft. What we need on the ticket is dull and it works: turbo, injectors or pump, exhaust, fuel, gearbox, and what you already tried. Make it angry is still not a parts list.

Same-day is for stock Stage 1. A custom brief that lands at 16:10 with a photo of a hybrid turbo and no fuel type is not that job. Attach the full dump. If the ECU was already written by someone else, say so. Half a story wastes the first revision before the car leaves the yard.

Gearbox limits show up harder here. Extra torque on a DSG that still protects a factory number feels lazy two shifts later. Send the TCU read with the engine file if you want both. A DQ381 is not a DQ250. A ZF 8HP in a BMW is not a Mercedes 9G.

Price sits on the quote, not on a fantasy horsepower sticker. We bill in credits. You see the number before you confirm. Rejected work puts them back. If you are not sure the hardware is Stage 3 yet, order Stage 2, write the list, and ask. We would rather move you up than send a file that assumes air that is not there.

Circuit and motorsport only. A stage number is not a street ticket and it is not a type approval. Brief the driver. Keep the first dump. When someone wants brochure behaviour back, that file is cheaper than a fight.
