DSG and gearbox remap, in plain words

The engine map can make more torque. The gearbox still decides when you get it. That is why TCU files exist. A Stage 1 on a DSG that still thinks it is protecting a lower torque figure feels like nothing happened. The TCU file is the other half of the same week.
A TCU remap is written on the dump you send from the mechatronic. It raises the torque the box will accept, changes shift points where the brief asks for it, and can add launch control on the cars that support it. It is not an engine map and it is not a magic fix for a slipping clutch or a tired dual-mass.
On the ticket write the gearbox (DSG, ZF, other), the engine stage you already have or are ordering, and what the driver actually wants. “Hold gears longer on track” is useful. “Make it faster” is not. The desk matches the TCU file to the engine file and to the hardware on the car.
Launch control is a TCU function on the cars that have it. It is not an extra line on the engine map. If the brief asks for launch, say so. The file is still for circuit and motorsport. The workshop briefs the driver.
Common mistakes: ordering only the engine Stage 1 and wondering why the DSG still limits, or expecting a TCU file to hide a slipping clutch. A tired clutch shows itself with extra torque. Tell us on the ticket. An honest brief is cheaper than a second file.
Circuit and motorsport use only. 1 credit = 1 €. Most TCU jobs leave with the engine file when the dumps are complete. We do not host the dumps on the site. The cloud link is the file.
After the flash. Use the car. Shift points and torque acceptance are what change. Do not sit at 4.000 rpm in second to bed in a remap. That is not a thing. If the box still limits or a code appears, open the job chat and describe it. Revisions sit on the same ticket when the brief was clear.
Frequently asked questions. Why do I need a TCU file? Because the gearbox still decides when you get the extra torque. An engine Stage 1 on a DSG that is still protecting the old number feels like nothing happened. Is launch control an engine map? No. It is a TCU function on the cars that support it. Can a TCU file fix a slipping clutch? No. Extra torque shows a tired clutch. Say so on the ticket. Is this for the public road? No. Every file is for closed-circuit, private track, off-road and motorsport use only.
